Abstract (EN)
In recent years, after major earthquakes, structural designers need for the new design methodsthat consider both economy and safety. As a result of investigations and researches, currentbuilding codes have lack for achieving that solution. Thus, different design methods havebeen discussing in earthquake engineering. In this study, it is aimed to review performance based seismic design of a high rise steelframe. A 10 storey moment resisting steel frame was selected for study, capacity spectrummethod and displacement coefficient method were used to find the target performance of theframe. In addition, seismic provisions for the structural steel buildings were explained.
