Özet (EN)

Due to the high user density and equipment, office buildings energy consumption profile is much greater than the other building types. Improving the thermal performance of the existing office buildings? glazed surfaces, plays a major role in increasing the energy performance of the building. The purpose of this thesis is to prove reducing the building?s energy consumption by increasing the thermal performance of the building with creating the optimal facade. For this reason, an existing multi-storey office building which has weak thermal performance, is considered and the effect of the energy performance with different optimization techniques have been studied with Design Builder simulation programme. According to the outputs of the programme, annual energy consumption profit to existing building is calculated. Then, initial investment cost payback period is determined. It is discussed that the improvement technique is suggestive or not with respect to the payback period results. At the end of the thesis, the double facade which meets initial investment in ten years and which is reducing annual energy comsume cost with the rate of % 34,37 on the southwest facade is decided to recommend. The integration of the double facade with existing building is showed by 3d drawings step by step and supported with system and point details. Thus, the applicability of the recommendation is proved.
