Abstract (EN)
It is a matter of course that there is a Turkish presence in Germany which has reached the fourth generation and is stated as a transnational group of community. This dense Turkish presence takes part as a power potency in the Europe. While at first, on the subject of immigration, economic axial discussions concerning immigrants were taking part in world conjuncture, nowadays the demands of immigrant communities for recognition of their identities are on the foreground. In this context, the concepts of ?multiculturalism?, ?intercultural? and ?integration?, and their application dimensions in political and social life have been discussed. The perceptions, in the cultural sense, of the Turks in Germany, too, are affected by these discussions, and similarly Germany also puts them on its own agenda and follows the policies that it determines. At this point, it is necessary to determine the position of dense immigrant-receiving Germany about the discussions concerning multiculturalism and to have knowledge about the cultural perceptions of Turkish students who are educated according to that position. This research was applied in the sample of Germany, city of Bremen. This scientific study that was done in the sampling of the state of Bremen, which was choosen for the reason that any study concerning the Turks in this state were not done, draws a frame for the concepts of ?multiculturalism?, ?integration? and ?intercultural? that breaks loose from multiculturalism, and exhibits the perspective of Germany in multiculturalism. This study that describes, in addition to these emphasises, the identity perception that Turkish students get by means of the German education system, exhibiting also whether they recieve an intercultural education, will raise awareness of recognition of the Turkish students growing up in Germany and of their cultural attitude to be understood. In this research, drawing the theoretical frame, both quantitative and qualitative method was used; in addition to the questionnaires conducted with students, interviews were had with teachers, negotiations were conducted with the authorities within the Bremen Education Senatorship and making observations at the schools, subject-related data were collected. The interpretations and discussions aimed at understanding that were made being grounded at the theoretical axis with the analysis of the collected data will shed light on the prospective studies in this field. In this research, it ensued that, in spite of the education that Turkish students receive in an environment where different cultures coexist, Germany does not pursue a multicultural policy in education. Germany does not allow different cultures for keeping their practical experiences. It socializes the students belonging to different cultures with German cultural form and does not offer them an intercultural education. And especially the frustration of mother tongue and Turkish students? being held within migration psychology, the discriminations encountered, the conception of Leitkultur which is expressed as awaiting immigrants to internalize majority culture, and its effects are the conclusions drawn in this research.
