The purpose of this research is to determine the views of Visual Arts Teachers concerning the applicability of the Theory of Multiple Intelligences (ToMI) in the primary school first level Visual Arts Education lesson.The research is a documentary screening study because of the description of the Visual Arts Teachers? views on the subject. The study was realized with the participation of 112 Visual Arts Teachers that working in primary schools in the Erdemli and Silifke districts of Mersin. In this research, interview form was used, which is one of qualitative data collection methods. The interview form consists of 14 open-ended questions so as to the teachers able to demonstrate their views as they want without limiting. The obtained data are evaluated within the framework of the criteria that set by the researcher and the frequency and percentile distributions of data are given through presenting in tables. Findings suggest that the Theory of Multiple Intelligences had a positive impact to the Visual Arts Education and communication, responsibility and learning skills of students taking this education, but the theory can not be applied in the Visual Arts Education lesson due to impossibilities, material shortages, long curriculum issues and short duration of the lesson. Light of these findings, recommendations are presented for the use of the Theory of Multiple Intelligences in the Visual Arts Education and what can be done in the future.Key Words: Theory of Multiple Intelligences, Visual Arts Education, Learning, Teaching, Learning and Teaching Cases
