The regulation attempt of the child labour by multinational corporations

In this study, global labour standards, social accountability standards, and social labelling were analyzed as applications that have been developed by multi-national cooperations to regulate child labour. The study is significant for understanding both the condition of the children who are impacted by the establishment of multi-national cooperations and how and why they should be removed from labour.The aim of this work is to determine the responsibility of multi-national cooperations in abusive child labor and the attempts they make to eliminate abuse. With that as the point of departure, the reasons of the multi-national cooperations to regulate child labor, and whether their goals can be achieved by the methods they developed were investigated.A qualitative research method was used in accordance with the purpose and limitations of the study. A range of printed and visual material was used in an attempt to minimize subjectivity and possible bias. The results revealed the presence of both supporters and opponents for the terms developed to eliminate child labour. In addition, it is suggested that the complete elimation of child labor is hindered by the fact that such terms could only be realized by the voluntary collaboration of the multi-national cooperations. It is proposed that the child labour abuse can only be eliminated by regulations that allow the right to enforcement by labor unions and the government.
