ABSTRACT Şahinkaya Ceren, (2024), Comparison of the accuracy and precision of intraoral and extraoral scanners used for digital impression of endocrown restoration in root canal treated teeth. Yeditepe University Institute of Health Sciences, Department of Endodontics. Master Thesis. Istanbul The clinical success of endodontic treatment is influenced not only by the root canal filling but also by the coronal restoration applied post-endodontic treatment, with various options available for the restoration. Endocrowns, which are post-endodontic restorations, are single-piece ceramic blocks that extend into the pulp chamber and canal orifices to enhance retention and are prepared using either conventional or digital impression systems. In the literature, there are no studies comparing the digital impression systems used in the preparation of endocrowns. This study aims to compare the accuracy and precision of digital impressions of endocrowns obtained using five different scanning systems. PrimeScan, 3Shape Trios 3, 3Shape Trios 4, Medit i500 intraoral, and Sirona inEOS X5 extraoral). The scanning data were saved in .stl format. Subsequently, the digital impression of the sample model was taken with the industrial scanning device Comet 6 (Zeiss, Oberkochen, Germany), and the data were saved in .stl format. All recorded data were superimposed in a computer environment, and the amount of deviation and On a resin model produced from tooth 46, digital impressions were taken using the scanners (Cerec RMS (Root Mean Square) values were statistically evaluated in terms of accuracy and precision. A statistically significant difference was found in terms of accuracy values among the devices. The deviation values of the Trios 3, Trios 4, and Sirona inEOS X5 devices were found to be lower than those of the other devices (p<0.001). The deviation values of the Primescan device were found to be lower than those of the Medit device (p<0.001). Keywords: endocrown, digital impression systems, post endodontic restoration
