In this study, we focused on a religious group (the Haydar Baş group) that had the opportunity to grow as a result of the pragmatic attitude of the state against the left after the September 12, 1980 coup d'état, integrated into the "market logic" in the neoliberalization process and gained secular functions and founded The Independent Turkey Party in 2001. This group, which aimed to repair the "moral and material destruction" of the pre-1980 period, published the review Icmal, based on Sufism in 1983 and established its organization around this review and published articles in accordance with the Turkish-Islamic synthesis. During the period when Turkey moved into a free market economy and the Islamic bourgeoisie began to form with state incentives, the Baş group started to establish its own companies and has shaped its Islamic ideas according to the "market logic". This group established its own television channels (Mesaj and Meltem TV) and its own newspaper (Yeni Mesaj) in the 1990s and opened private schools to educate students in accordance with the views of Haydar Baş. In 2001, he moved the intermediate-form confraternity organization to the party and founded the ITP. "The followers", who accepted Baş's material and spiritual leadership, formed the basis of this party and the people who took part in Baş's organization formed the party administration. Haydar Baş preferred nationalist, egocentric, provocative and populist discourses, exaggerated promises in rallies of the party. With the 2000s, this group used atatürkist discourse and Haydar Baş identified himself with Atatürk.
