Özet (EN)
Climate change has far-reaching repercussions in Somalia, with a special emphasis on the disproportionate burden felt by women. This study examines the impacts of climate change on Somali women, who have endured preexisting discrimination and a lack of empowerment. The findings of the study clearly demonstrate that drought and climate change have had a significant and detrimental effect on women, who lack the necessary aptitude and capability to effectively withstand and adapt to rapid climatic changes. Women exhibit a somewhat lower educational attainment, encounter limited employment opportunities, experience lower income levels, and confront higher degrees of poverty. It is traditionally seen as the job of women to provide sustenance and care for their children, aging relatives, and other members of the family. Pregnant and lactating women have unique nutritional needs and are more vulnerable in a context characterized by food insecurity. Keywords: Climate Change, Gender, Vulnerability, Somalia.
