Abstract (EN)
Corum has hosted so many important civilizations through the history. As a result of this, myriad cultural heritage has been left on these lands. Some of them could remain today but some already got destroyed. The fountains being the part of this heritage, that could reach today even though not many of them, are the main theme of this thesis. The fountains belonging to XVIII. XIX. XX. , that were built in late Ottoman and Republic periods, 7 of them in the centre, 20 in Iskilip, 3 in Osmancik and finally 2 in Mecitozu , were included in the content of thesis. There are overall of 29 inscriptions in the 23 out of 32 fountains around Corum and its surroundings. These inscriptions are mostly built through low raising method which are carved over white marbles. From these fountains, there is only one in the centre called Muftu Pinari Fountain and one in Osmancik, called Baltaci Mehmet Pasa Fountain II that are still flowing water. In Iskilip and Mecitozu, all the fountains are running the water. The Corum Fountains are significant due to their simplistic forms. However, comparing other ones, the fountains in Iskilip are built with more details, and they consisted of double and triple archway arrays. Most of the fountains have been built with stoneware, but it can be seen that brick materials also have been used in some fountains in centre of Corum.
