Counting control of pheromone trap with electronic control unit in field condition

In today's forestry, control forest pests are one of the important issues in order to ensure the sustainability of forests and ecosystem balance. Biotechnical methods are also underlined in order to evaluate the risks by ensuring early warnings. Pheromone trap practices also play a role in this regard. Their contribution to the determination of control strategies is undeniable because they are developed by keeping up with today's technology and thus provide more data that are reliable. In this study, field studies of pheromone trap with electronic control unit (ECU) were carried out. It was evaluated whether Ips sexdentatus adults, which are under natural conditions and in the flying period, caught in this trap for 103 days. 97.2% of the insects caught in the trap belong to the target species. When the number of insects recorded by the trap and manual counts were compared, it was determined that the ECU pheromone trap worked with an error margin of approximately 4%. However, there is no statistically significant difference between these two values. During the study, 59% of the total beetle were caught between 27 May and 25 June in addition, a total of 2472 data intervals were created by evaluating each day according to 24-hour periods in order to reveal the situation in the moments of catching and not catching. While I. sexdentatus was caught in 24% of these data, it was determined that in 76% it was not caught. It was determined at the time of catching that the average temperature was 20.09ºC, the average humidity was 66% and the average wind speed was 2.9 m/sec. In addition, it was determined that the highest number of catching occurred during the period from sunrise to sunset and 77.3% of catching occurred in this period. From sunrise to the peak of the sun, in the hours when the highest number of catching occurred were between 20- 24,99ºC temperature, 1.6-3.3 m/sec wind speed, and 51-60% - 61-70% humidity. At least 1 and at most 33 I. sexdentatus were caught at each hour interval of a total of 594 hours during which catching occurred.
