Abstract (EN)
Introduction: In our study, it is aimed to show the effect on acute kidney injury status and mortality in patients with COVID-19 infection. Method: In the Pandemic Clinic of Akdeniz University Hospital between March 1, 2020 and March 1, 2022, a total of 626 patients, who were followed up and treated with the diagnosis of COVID-19 infection, including 161 patients who developed AKI and 465 patients who did not develop AKI, were screened according to the KDIGO criteria. Results: 26% of patients who were infected with COVID-19 developed AKI. Of the patients who developed AKI, 70.2% (n=113) developed Stage 1, 12.4% (n=20) Stage 2, and 17.4% (n=28) Stage 3. Of the patients who developed AKI, 64% were male and 36% were female, and the average age of the group developing AKI was 71 years. It was observed that AKI was most frequently accompanied by HT (55.3%), DM (43.5%) and cardiovascular diseases (34.8%). It was determined that the total length of hospital stay was higher in patients who developed AKI. The need for intensive care has increased in the group developing AKI, and the need for non-invasive mechanical ventilator, intubation and vasopressor therapy arose more frequently in the intensive care follow-up. Conclusion: When the renal function examinations of the patients who developed AKI were evaluated, it was observed that there was no complete recovery.
