Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the opinions of school principals about distance education during the Covid-19 pandemic period. In accordance with this purpose, the opinions of 16 school principals, 7 graduate and 9 undergraduates, working in primary and secondary schools in five central districts of Antalya province, with an average of 13 years of service in management, were consulted. In order to obtain the data of the research, a semi-structured individual interview form was applied to the participants. Content analysis and descriptive analysis techniques were used in the analysis of the data. Qualitative research package program NVIVO12 was utilized in content analysis. The obtained data in the analysis phase were placed under the sub-theme and main-theme titles in the coding list. As a consequence, the frequencies and percentages of all the expressions under the sub-theme and the main theme headings were determined and presented as a table. According to the results of the research; The most important obstacle to distance education is the lack of internet access and technological materials. This situation led to a lack of motivation in the students and participation in the lessons was not at the desired level. Teachers within sufficient technology uses kils were caught unprepared and forced into the process. Key Words: Pandemic, Covid 19, Distance Education, School Principals
