Abstract (EN)

In this research, it is aimed to evaluate the events experienced in the distance education process due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the effects of the pandemic on the teaching of Mathematics in the field of education, in line with the views of classroom teachers, and to reveal the status of distance education studies. The sample of the research consists of 24 primary school teachers working in a public school in Onikisubat district of Kahramanmaraş province. Qualitative research method, which interprets any existing situation from different perspectives, was used in the research. A case study design was used to evaluate the situation in depth. The research data were collected with a semi-structured interview form, with the approval of expert opinions. With the semi-structured interview form developed in line with expert opinions, face-to-face interviews were conducted with the classroom teachers. Content analysis was used while analyzing the collected data. According to the data of the research, it is seen that primary school teachers adopt more negative attitudes towards mathematics teaching in distance education, they do not have problems in concretizing, more traditional teaching methods are adopted during the lesson, the contents of different sites are used in the lesson, the students will not have problems in terms of readiness at the upper level. They think that they have communication problems and lack of feedback mostly due to the lack of learning by doing-experience in distance education, they can do measurement-evaluation activities in the process, they do not find the time allocated to the Mathematics course sufficient, they like the EBA TV course contents developed during the distance education process, that the students are against the Mathematics course. It has been concluded that they are very interested and their families have more positive effects in this process.
