Özet (EN)
Many factors deeply influence human history and lead to changes in societal life. These can be listed starting with wars, destructions, and epidemic diseases. A new epidemic disease that entered our lives in December 2019 has significantly affected Turkey and put the entire humanity under its influence. The mandatory prohibitions imposed with the pandemic declaration deeply shook society. Almost all social and commercial areas were closed after the impact on societal life due to quarantine measures; the economy was disrupted, and artistic and cultural activities also suffered. Artistic productions were disrupted alongside the quarantine, and the artworks created could no longer meet their audience. Artists, not indifferent to this situation, reflected this tumultuous period both individually and socially in their artworks, almost as a testament. This research includes a literature review on the reflection of the COVID-19 pandemic on art pieces and involves ceramic applications related to the COVID-19 pandemic process. The study encompasses how epidemic diseases, always present in human history, are depicted in art pieces. The subject has been limited to the recent COVID-19 pandemic and major World history pandemics. Art, concerned with societal events, enables us to gain knowledge and experience about periods through numerous individual and societal artworks depicting historical pandemic periods. Within the scope of the thesis, national and international artworks focusing on the COVID-19 pandemic process have been brought together and examined. This prepared thesis work has been conducted to acknowledge our losses and understand and not forget the bad and uncertain days we have experienced through the light of artworks. The personal applications undertaken in the thesis have been reflected in artworks by examining the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic process on our social and cultural life within the framework of restrictions imposed, addressing concepts such as social distancing, touch, virus, protection, environmental pollution, and the limitations created by the pandemic on society.
