Review of the anxiety level of families with children with special needs at 0-6 age range during the COVID-19 pandemic process

The aim of this study is to examine the state and trait anxiety levels of families with children with special needs between 0-6 years of age during the Covid-19 Pandemic process. In addition, the relationship between state and trait anxiety levels of parents, the relationship between anxiety level and demographic variables, and the relationship between working during the pandemic period, having Covid-19 and/or its variants, and taking their children with special needs out during restriction periods are among the aims of the study. Participants consist of families of children with special needs between the ages of 0-6 in Ankara. For the purposes of the study, Demographic Information Collection Form and State Trait Anxiety Scale were applied online to 101 parents of children with special needs. As a result of the study, it was found that there was a positive correlation between the state and trait anxiety scores of the parents; however, no significant difference was found between the state and trait anxiety scores. It was concluded that mothers' anxiety scores were higher than fathers. In addition, it has been determined that the anxiety levels of families increase as the age of children with special needs decreases. While it was determined that working status during the pandemic period was effective on the level of anxiety, other variables were found to be unrelated.
