EXAMINING THE OPINIONS OF POSTPRIMARY STUDENTS ON TEACHING SCIENCE CLASSES THROUGH DISTANT EDUCATION DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The current study, aims to evaluate the opinions of the post primary students on participating into science calasses through distant education. This research is a qualitative research. The participants of the study involve 7th and 8th grade students of the 2022-2023 academic year in Patnos district of Ağrı province. "Attending to science classes through distant education during the COVID-19 pandemic" is identified as one of the requirements for becoming a participant in this study. Questionnaire was used as data collection tool. Qualitative data analysis technique was used to evaluate the data of the research. In the findings of the study, it was found that the negative feelings and thoughts of the students about distant education are more than their positive thoughts and feelings, and the biggest problems encountered in distant education are the infrastructure problem, the lack of smart devices, the internet problem and the communication problem. At the same time, it was concluded that most of the students wanted to prefer face-to-face education instead of distant education. 2023, 94 Pages Key words: science, pandemic, distant education, face-to-face education
