Özet (EN)

Teachers and students were faced with an entirely new predicament when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out: distance education. As a result of these new circumstances, educational scholars had to reconsider numerous topics in education in light of the current circumstances. Undoubtedly, classroom management is critical to achieving the desired educational outcomes. Because unruly students can cause disruptions in the classroom and prevent education from taking place. Distance education has caused changes in the execution of components that are the fundamental building blocks of classroom management due to the fact that the teacher and the student are physically separated. The goal of this qualitative study is to delve into the consequences of the transformation; therefore, seven English teachers and ten students were asked open-ended questions and their perspectives were analyzed. Open-ended questions for teachers were designed to elicit information about teachers' views on execution of classroom management components in distance education. Glasser's Choice Theory was used to receive and analyze students' opinions. Findings suggested that classroom management components did not operate well, and that students' basic requirements as defined by Choice Theory were not addressed in distance education. KEY WORDS: classroom management, Glasser's Choice Theory, distance education
