The effect of collage students' attitudes on level Of Covid-19 fear during the Covid-19 outbreak

This research was conducted to determine the effect of the attitude of university students during the epidemic on the fear of Covid-19. This descriptive study was conducted with undergraduate students studying at Koç University between April 2021 and May 2021. The sample of the study consisted of 132 students who agreed to participate in the study. For data collection, sociodemographic characteristics and a Covid-19 Attitude Questionnaire, Scale of Covid-19 Fear was used. Data collection was done electronically. Statistical analysis was evaluated by using SPSS 26.0 program, descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test and, one-way ANOVA analysis. As a result of the analysis, the mean score of the students in the research group from the level of Covid-19 fear was 17.54 ± 6.04. The fear level of female students was higher than male students, the fear levels of students studying in health-related departments are lower than students studying in other departments, the Covid-19 fear levels of students who pay attention to hand hygiene and social distance rules are higher than those who do not pay attention to these precautions. It was found that the Covid-19 fear levels of the students who did not use immune system strengthening methods and did not think that the epidemic was exaggerated were lower than the other students. As a result of the research findings, it was seen that the students' Covid-19 fear levels were low and as the fear level increased, they applied the measures to be taken against Covid-19.
