Abstract (EN)
In this study, the opinions of school principals working in primary (primary, secondary) and secondary (high school) schools in the Iznik district of Bursa province in the 2020-2021 academic year were examined on the effects of the Covid-19 outbreak process on them. Twenty-one school administrators, including six women and fifteen men, participated in the study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the participants using a 10-question interview form developed by the researcher. The data obtained from the interviews were analyzed in the MaxQda qualitative analysis program. The codes were created by examining the interview transcripts of the participant administrators, and the opinions of the school principals on the effects of the salgınc process were grouped under four themes and their sub-themes. The results were associated with the themes of social life, psychological effect, effects on family life and effects on business life. School administrators stated that they had an active life before the Covid-19 outbreak, and they switched to a somewhat passive lifestyle with the epidemic. The issue that school principals are most affected by the salgınc is related to psychological and emotional health. Managers, who had difficulty coping with the idea of uncertainty, preferred to spend more time with their family members to overcome the problems. Contrary to expectations, it can be said that the Covid-19 outbreak did not reduce the workload of school administrators, but on the contrary, added the responsibility of managing distance education to their previous jobs.
