Abstract (EN)

Gender is the impact of the society culture on gender. It includes the expectations of society from people with a male or female gender. While society shapes the future of people of a certain gender, it also shapes their own future. Gender also causes segregation, discrimination, and it is often the woman who is physically less powerful who is affected, and she is in a disadvantaged position. Pandemic and other similar mass incidents actually cause this discrimination in society to become more pronounced. In this study, Covid-19 pandemics of effects on employment and working life, on examining gender discrimination in society, samples were compared Croatia and Türkiye. It is aimed to determine and compare social policies, programs and practices to increase women's employment in both countries and to reduce the negative effects of the epidemic on women. Statistical data on the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic on working life, unemployment and employment were examined. It has been concluded that the rate of gender equality is higher in Croatia, which is a European Union country, but fewer practices (compared to Turkey) have been implemented to protect women from the effects of the epidemic on working life and employment.
