Investigation of the effect of Covid-19 process on sleep quality and evaluation in the context of cognitive attentional syndrome (CAS)

Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the Covid-19 process, sleep quality and cognitive attentional syndrome (CAS) concepts that have been examined in different contexts in the past literatüre and to examine the relationships between them. The sample of the research consists of 247 people that 183 females, 64 males, aged between 18-65 and living different cities of Turkey. "Pittsburg Sleep Quality Scale, Cognitive Attentional Syndrome Scale, Covid-19 Anxiety Scale, The Obsession with Covid-19 Scale, Fear of Covid-19 Scale and Socio-Demographic Information Form" were used in the study. The data obtained in the study were analyzed with the SPSS-22 statistical program. In this study, socio-demographic informations examined by descriptive statistic alanalysis. The relationships between variables were examined by independent samples t-test and one-way ANOVA analysis. The effect of the Covid-19 process on sleep quality and cognitive attentional syndrome (CAS) was evaluated by Pearson correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. As a reslut of the research, a positive and significant relationship is found between the sleep quality and Covid-19 anxiety and obsession with Covid-19. No significant relationship is found between fear of Covid-19 and sleep quality. In addition, it is found that there is a positive and significant relationship between cognitive attentional syndrome (CAS) and Covid-19 anxiety, fear of Covid-19 and obsession with Covid-19. According to the hierarchical regression model, it was found that independent variables explain 52% of the sleep quality variance.
