The effect of COVID 19 on the consumption behaviours of university students: A research on Sakarya University students

Covid 19 epidemic that emerged on 2019 in China affected the whole world. In order to control the epidemic, governments have made ristrictions in daily life and have taken measures up to due to curfews the increasing number of cases. To stop the infection rate of the epidemic, it was laid emphasis on the importance of using mask, social distance and hygiene fort his reason, the request of people's hygiene products has increased.On television, Public service announcements were emphasized on obeying the rules for mask, social distance and hygiene. The emphasis onhygiene on televisions, social media etc. Has led people to buy some products related hygiene. Due to the curfews and closed businesses in that period, there has been a decrease in people's expenses. Online shopping sites that make this situation as chance have organizde campaigns to draw attention of Consumers to their own sites. In that period online shopping sites intended to reach more Consumers by improving themselves. For this reason, people prefer internet shopping that offers many options in a fast and safe way by contactless payment. In pandemic period, the cargo vending machines that were set up online sites have made it easy to get Access the cargo by entering the instructions given by he cargo mat without Being in any direct contact with someone and the Opportunity in accessing the delivery 7/24. This Research was conducted on Sakarya University students by using the questionnaire method to test on 4 hypotheses: 3 of the guestions are demographic, 11 of them are About the guestions of Covid 19 epidemic and measuring the consumption behaviour of people. Survey questions were applied to 384 people. The survey results show that Covid 19 has had an important impact on the consumption behaviour of people.
