Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, it was aimed to isolate flavonoid compounds from leaves, flowers, raw fruits and ripe fruits of the Crataegus x bornmuelleri Zabel species, which is endemic in Turkey and known as 'kızlar yemişi', and to investigate the bioactivity of the extracts. Dried drugs were extracted using Soxhlet apparatus and percolator, and then flavonoid compounds were isolated. The 10 compounds obtained from the extracts were identified as Hyperoside, Quercetin, Rutin, Astragalin, Eupafolin, Vitexin, Shaftoside, Kaempferol, Spireoside and Chlorogenic acid. In addition, bioactivity studies were carried out on the extracts of drogs prepared with methanol in percolation. Total flavonoid and phenolic compounds were calculated and their antioxidant, antiinflammatory and angiotensin converting enzyme inhibition activities were investigated. Leaf and flower extracts were found to have higher potency than fruit extracts in all assay and activity tests. Although leaf and flower extracts exhibited good activity at higher doses than standard substances, given that Crataegus species are safe plants in terms of side effects, our results show that C. x bornmuelleri leaf and flower extracts have therapeutic potential.
