Abstract (EN)

In this study, using the probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (OSTA) CRISIS 2015 program, the tectonic structures, seismic activity and associated seismic parameters were investigated for the area within a circle of 150 km radius considering Urla-Çeşme-Karaburun districts of İzmir province as the center. Parameters of the fault structures and available knowledge of seismic activity in the study area were obtained, and then seismic hazard map and acceleration spectrum curves were formed. The current seismic activity information from AFAD's database for a 116-year investigation period was taken as an earthquake catalog and transferred to CRISIS 2015 software. The information obtained from the main characteristics of the faults was also defined and the effective ground acceleration (PGA) seismic hazard map and acceleration spectrum curves estimated with active-secondary fault systems in the study area were obtained. The calculations were then compared with the earthquake zones map and acceleration spectrum curves published by AFAD. In addition, various new generation attenuation relationships are applied for the study area to understand to what degree these relationships can influence our interpretations. Our comparisons, in general, indicate that the calculations obtained from the use of different attenuation models yield similar patterns, but the differences may arise from the investigation area is relatively small.
