Measuring corporate sustainability performance using critic-based EDAS and SAW method: An example of a company traded on BIST

The concept of sustainability can be described as a regularity and continuity in the simplest way. The concept of sustainability for humans, other living beings and legal entities; being dynamic to changing environmental conditions and adapting to changing conditions. The sustainability is a concept beginning with human life. This thesis was made to mesure the corporate sustainability performance of the A company operating in the automotive industry, which is traded in BIST. Multi-criteria decision making methods were used for performance measurements. CIRITIC method was used in order to determine the weight of the criteria taken into account. EDAS and SAW methods was used with the aim to find ranking based on the years taken. CRITIC method analysis results; the criteria with the best importance in social performance criteria is the number of employees, the best degree of importance in environmental sustainability criteria is the criterion of direct non-renewable energy consumption, the criterion with the highest degree of importance from the economic sustainability criteria was found as a net profit. SAW method analysis results; the year in which social and economic sustainability performance is best on a year-by-year basis was found as 2018. The year that environmental sustainability performance was the best has been identified as 2022. As a result of the analysis of the EDAS method, the year 2018 was found to be the best in economic, environmental and social sustainability performance.In order for the company to take better steps at the level of sustainability, it should work to make these criteria better by paying attention to the criteria that are high in importance.
