Abstract (EN)

CsCdCl3 ve RbCdBr3 crystals belong to the perovskite type AMX3 family. These type crystals are built as edge-shared, corner-shared, face-shared or partly face-partly corner-shared form of three-dimensional [MX6]4- octahedrons. Some of these crystals play a significant role for investigation of the physical processes such as ion?lattice interactions, cooperative excitations, energy transfer, and up-conversion when the host crystal is doped with rare earth and/or transition metal ions due to one-dimensional structure.Cd2+ ions form two different center (D3d and C3v) due to [CdCl6]4- octahedrons in CsCdCl3 crystal are built as corner-shared and face-shared. [CdBr6]4? octahedrons in RbCdBr3 crystal are built as corner-shared and thus, Cd2+ ions have a center D2h symmetry.In this study, CsCdCl3 (P63/mmc) and RbCdBr3 (Pnma) crystals were grown by Bridgman method. The excitation and emission spectra at low temperature were taken on the new optical spectroscopy set established by this study. Obtained spectra were analyzed using group and molecular orbital theory. Thus, electronic energy levels have been identified. With these results, the crystals mentioned above have been mapped spectroscopically and maps are now available.Keywords: AMX3 crystals, CsCdCl3, RbCdBr3, excitation and emission spectrum, electronic energy levels.
