Abstract (EN)
Calcium carbonate (CaCO3) as a filler has been used in the traditional production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe. In this study, industrial waste is used instead of CaCO3. Used in cutting waste was emerged during the produced in glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP) pipe production from wet cutting. Cutting waste goes to filter press system. GRP waste is including polyester resin, glass fiber, silicon dioxide (SiO2). Cutting waste was dried, milled and then sieved. PVC, GRP waste powder and process aids were mixtured then produced in extrusion system for polymer matrix composite production. Thirteen different weight (%5-%70) percentages of cutting waste as a filler were reinforced to PVC. CaCO3 reinforced and pure PVC were produced in extrusion system to make comparison. Waste water pipe was produced according to optimal formula found by tests. All PVC samples were tested appearance and color control, density, shore D hardness, tensile testing, three-point flexural testing, impact testing, erosive and adhesive wear, XRD, DTA-TG, and EDS analysis, resistance to dichloromethane, UV resistance, surfaces were taken by SEM and optical microscope. The waste water pipe were tested tensile test, impact test, dimensional stability and vicat softening temperature. The PVC matrix composite which was produced by using of waste material, tensile strength and hardness values were increased and the density was decreased. CaCO3 reinforced PVC composite higher impact resistant than waste material reinforced PVC matrix composite. GRP waste reinforced PVC matrix composite is lighter than traditional PVC composites.
