Abstract (EN)

In this thesis pure ZnO thin films in various molarity are produced using spin coater on microscope glass and their optical and mechanical properties have been investigated. In addition to these series of experiments Cu doped ZnO thin films were fabricated and characterized using XRD, SEM and UV-Vis spectrometers. After the introductory chapter, we have briefly introduced the crystal and amorphous structures in the Chapter 2. Chapter three is dedicated to the methods that are being used in the production of the thin films. In the chapter four experimental results related to the ZnO films produces at various molarities have been summarised and interpreted.Chapter five gives the experimental results for the Cu doped ZnO films in different doping ratios. It has been found that the both crystal structures, i.e. ZnO and CuO, can be put into the same matrix without effecting each other. In this chapter XRD, SEM and optical absorption spectra for these samples are also included and explained. In the Chapter 6 a brief summary and a proposal are given for future works.
