ABSTRACT Master Thesis THE EXPERIMENTALLY INVESTIGATION OF THE EFFECT OF WEAR RESISTANCE OF FERROMANGANESE CLADDING ON THE SURFACE OF Cu-Sn-Zn-Al BRONZE ALLOY Serkan ÖZEL Fırat University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Metalurgy Education 2004, Sayfa: 96 In this study, ferromanganese alloys powders were coated on surface of casted Cu-Sn- Zn-AI bronze alloys by using GTA welding process. Hardness, microstructure and wearing characteristic of new formed surface layer were examined. After casting, surface of samples were cleaned and stick to various amount of ferromanganese powders on samples surface. And then by using GTA process ferromanganese powders coated on surface, thus a new alloyed layer was formed. From the intersection of the coated samples, hardness of surface, microstructure and wearing characteristic were estimated. Microstructure observation were observed by using SEM, EDS. Wearing characteristic were examined by using block-on-ring method, hardness test of surface of coated samples showed that increasing powder feed rate with raising of hardness. It was detected with hardness increasing parallel to weight lost, compare with hardness values and wearing characteristic. Keywords: Adhesiv Wear, Surface Modification, Ferromanganese.
