Educational situation of Çubuk district (Ankara)

Education is one of the main forces that enable people to advance in their efforts to understand and shape the world. Education is intertwined with the environment with its dynamics. It affects its environment, the society it lives in, and is affected by the society. In our study, it is aimed to examine the state of education from various aspects in Çubuk district, which has a deep-rooted history and contains traces from many periods of history, and to reveal the structure of the district from different aspects. In this study, after discussing the social, economic, cultural and historical aspects of Çubuk district, its educational structure was tried to be examined and presented in detail in various aspects.. Many public and private educational institutions at all levels, from kindergarten to high school, operate in Çubuk district, which has reached an important level in the field of education. All public and private educational institutions in the district were included in the research. In our study, a qualitative research model was used and purposeful sampling was preferred. Our sample consists of educational institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye located in Çubuk district. Data was obtained through travel, observation, interviews and document review. During the research process, the characteristics of the district in various aspects were revealed. While there are mountainous and high areas in the northern part of the district, there is a fertile plain in the south. Çubuk district, located in the north of Ankara province, is developing in different aspects such as agriculture, animal husbandry, industry and transportation, as well as education. Sixty-seven educational institutions in the district were visited and school administrators were interviewed. During the interviews, it was seen that educational activities were carried out dynamically and that the number of educational institutions and students increased over time, as did the population. Educational institutions are distributed quite homogeneously in various parts of the district, and private educational institutions, as well as public schools, have been continuing their activities for a long time. Educational activities continue outside the school as well as inside the school, and it is understood that various field trip observation activities are carried out more than once in most schools. It is seen that the interaction with the environment increases further in the process of carrying out educational activities in line with needs. It is understood that the different activities developed along with the educational processes have brought vitality to the district in various aspects.
