Abstract (EN)
In this study, plant growth, yield and sprout quality were investigated by planting at three different periods in three different Brussels sprout varieties in Çukurova Region. In the study, 4 different sowing and planting times (1st sowing-planting dates: 15/06/2018-16/07/2018; 2nd sowing-planting dates: 30/06/2018-31/07/2018; 3rd sowing-planting dates: 16/07/2018-16/08/2018; 4th sowing-planting dates: 31/07/2018-31/08/2018) of Franklin Fı, Maximus Fı and Divino Fı Brussels sprouts were determined plant height (cm) with monthly measurements (05/10/2018, 05/11/2018, 05/12/2018, 05/01/2019 and 05/02/2019), main shoot diameter (mm) and number of leaves (leave/plant) yield (g/m2), number of sprout (number/plant), sprout weight (g), sprout diameter (mm), sprout height (mm), sprout circumference (cm), sprout volume (ml). The effects of vitamin C (mg/100 g), antioxidant capacity [μmol trolox equivalents (TE)/g] and total phenolic content [mg gallic acid equivalent (GAE)/100 g] were also investigated. According to the research results; plant height, main shoot diameter and number of leaves, were found to be longer, thicker and more leafy than other varieties in Maximus Fı. The yield and number of sprout were recorded to be more efficient in Maximus Fı variety than other varieties. Maximus Fı was superior to other Brussels sprout varieties, Franklin Fı and Divino Fı in terms of sprout weight, sprout diameter, sprout height, sprout circumference and sprout volume. When the planting times were evaluated, it was recorded that the 1st period was more suitable both in terms of yield and sprout characteristics compared to other periods. In the content of vitamin C, antioxidant capacity and total phenolic content, Franklin Fı has higher rates than other varieties and late plantings have more nutrient content.
