Abstract (EN)

Banana is a tropical fruit, but it can also be grown in subtropical climate conditions in some micro-climates. Homeland is Southern China, India and the Island between India and Australia. First time in Turkey, ın 1935, it was brought to Alanya from Egypt and then to Anamur in Turkey, and production was started in the open air, but losses were observed due to low temperatures. Banana cultivation in our country; it is widely practiced in the Mediterranean Region, on the Mersin-Antalya coastline, in Anamur, Bozyazı, Alanya and Gazipaşa, which are protected by the Taurus Mountains and where micro-climate facilities are more suitable. Especially in Anamur and Bozyazı, they started to grow them in plastic and glass greenhouses instead of open fields. In recent years the greenhouse, it has started to be grown economically cultivation in different regions of Çukurova, İskenderun, Dörtyol, Erdemli and Antalya. In the study, the prevalence, density and population distribution of weed species that area a problem in greenhouse banana cultivation in the Çukurova Region, the main harmful weed species, the control possibilities of the main harmful weeds that are a problem in banana greenhouse were determined. According to the data obtained from the survey studies in the Çukurova Region, the first 5 weed species were determined as Hairy bittercress (Cardamine hirsuta L.), Common purslane (Portulaca oleraceae L.), Awnless barnyardgrass [Echinochloa colona (L.)] Link. Redroot pigweed (Amaranthus retreflexus L.) , Nodding spurge (Euphorbia nutans Lag.) In the study, organic herbicide (fatty acid ammonium salts), vegetable oil(45% clove oil, 45% cinnamon oil), mulch textile, banana leaf mulch and herbicide with glyphosate effective substance were included in the study in the fight against weeds. The most effective results from the applications was determined as mulch textile and banana leaf mulch. Among the herbicide, the best result, in parallel with each other, was obtained from the vegetable oil application with 97,84%. It is understood from this study that the use of herbicides in the control of weeds should be a method that should be applied in cases where other control methods are insufficient.
