Relationship between organic matter turnover and some nematode and bacteria distributions in two different olive grove soils in Cukurova region

Abstract (EN)
Some soil chemical and biological properties of Olea europaea L. (Olive) trees and their carbon and nitrogen contents of leaves and litters grown naturally in east of Space Science and Solar Energy Research and Application Center (Spacecen) and in Olive Gene Garden (OGG) in Cukurova University Campus were determined seasonally at two different soil depth (0-10 cm and 10-20 cm). Leaf carbon contents were higher in olives of Spacecen, their nitrogen contents were higher in OGG (P<0.05). Generally, no significant difference were found between areas and between seasons in litter carbon contents while there were found in nitrogen contents (P<0.05). Soil carbon and nitrogen contents in Spacecen were higher than OGG in both two depths in every season (P<0.05). Carbon mineralizations (Cm) in two areas generally showed a similarities and highest Cm ratio was found at 10-20 cm soil depth of OGG. Soil depth, agricultural practices and seasons generally didn't have any effect on soil nematode, bacteria and fungi distribution. There were found positive correlation between plant parasitic and saprophytic nematodes in both areas while these nematode groups showed a negative correlation with Cm only in Spacecen (P<0.05).
