Abstract (EN)

In this study, 20 dent corn hybrid varieties provided by the private seed companies which were commonly grown in Çukurova Region Conditions were grown on the field of Çukurova University, Research and Application farm according to Randomised Complete Block Design with three replications to evaluate agromorphological and quality traits in 2023 crop season. According to results of the experiment, all genotypes were statistically significant for tasseling period, plant height, stem thickness, ear length, ear weight, number of grains per ear, 1000 grain weight, test weight, grain moisture content, grain yield, starch content, fat content and protein content out of ear flowering period, first ear height and ear diameter. According to the findings of this research, it was determined that all of the corn varieties included in the experiment had suitable qualities for machine harvesting (over 110 cm) in first ear height and it was deemed appropriate to recommend P0937 (1417.0 kg/da) and LG30701 (1416.0 kg/da) in terms of grain yield. ; DKC6980 (71.90%) and P0937 (71.87%) in terms of starch; P1241 (10.23%), LG30692 (9.97%) and KWSKONTIGOS (9.93%) varieties in terms of protein. According to the relationships between characters, significant positive relationships were found between grain yield and ear diameter, ear weight, thousand kernel weight, hectolitre weight, moisture content and starch ratio, and significant negative relationships were found between grain yield and plant height and protein ratio.
