Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to determine the grain yield, yield elements and quality characteristics by comparing the varieties commonly used in wheat cultivation in the Çukurova region with the newly registered varieties. The study was established and carried out in the Field Crops Research and Application Area of Çukurova University Faculty of Agriculture in 2021 according to the randomized blocks trial design with 3 replications. In this research; 18 different bread wheat varieties (Adana-99, Sagittario, Özkan, Vittoria, Gökkan, Seri-2013, Masaccio, Yakamoz, Altıöz, Toros-1003, Candaş, Ekinoks, Tekfen-1013, Beyazhan, Tekfen-1016, Karmen, Simge ve Şahika) was used as the material. In this study; number of plants per square meter, number of stems per square meter, number of spikes per square meter, plant height, spike length, number of spikelets per spike, number of grains per spike, grain weight per spike, lodging ratio, thousand-seed weight, hectoliter weight, harvest index, protein ratio and grain yield features were investigated. As a result, Şahika, Beyazhan and Yakamoz cultivars had the highest grain yield. Karmen and Yakamoz varieties had the highest quality characteristics. In the light of this information, it was determined that yield and quality characteristics were inversely related, and quality decreased as grain yield increased. It was determined that Şahika variety should be preferred in terms of grain yield, but Yakamoz variety, which is in the third place in terms of grain yield and second in terms of quality value, is preferable because it is proportional in terms of quality and yield characteristics.
