Abstract (EN)

Before conveying the cultural reflections of the female image in the Turkish sculpture art of the Republican era, the place and breadth of the 'sculpture' in our history, which is one of the activities that have the three-dimensionality, depth and volume of fine arts, aiming to define and make sense of life, human and nature, has been tried to be examined. In this context, its place and position in pre-Islamic Turkish, European and Islamic art history seems to have changed in certain processes. If we look at the sculpture activities in our country, it is seen that different dimensions have been reached especially in the Republican period. In particular, the artistic awareness created by Sanayi-i Nefise Mektebi would confront important artists with a social environment in which they entered a new era and would bring new developments. The artists of this period would also witness a period in which a struggle such as the War of Independence would bring social solidarity along with it and would make the society accept themselves and the art of sculpture by creating works of a new dimension. It would also be observed that from the 1880s to the 1927s, metaphors and bodily changes would be encountered. Turkish sculpture in the Republican era will appear in the 1950s with subjects that outweigh individual feelings. When we come to the recent history of the Republican period, we will see the religious, moral and political tolerance and tolerance towards the works that convey the image of woman, which is the subject of research. We will witness the cultural, sociological and psychological reflections of the changing political and religious environment in historical processes, how the female figure, who was made the crown of the head of the republic, was exposed to exploitation and attacks.
