Abstract (EN)
This study deals with the perspectives of Elmalılı Muhammed Hamdi Yazır, who lived in the late Ottoman period and the beginning of the Republic, and Süleyman Ateş, who was born in the early years of the Republic, on the issue of mutashabih, which is a subject of Qur'anic science, and their interpretation of such accepted verses. In the first part of the study, the subject of muhkam-muteshabih, which is the focus of the discussions of the science of tafsir, is examined with its main lines, controversial aspects, currents of thought and on a problematic ground. In the second part, the approaches of our commentators to the subject of muhkem-mutashabih, whether they accept the existence of mutashabihat and which verses they accept as mutashabih will be shown in the works of Hak Dini Kur'an Dili and Yüce Kur'an'ın Çağdaş Tefsiri, which are two important tafsir works written in the Republican period. While focusing on the perspectives of our authors on the issue of understanding mutashabih verses and the way they interpret such verses, their different and common attitudes will be determined.
