Abstract (EN)

In this study, the situation of Turkish women in working life, issues, and employment policies were evaluated in terms of this subject during the period of the Republic of Turkey based on the statistical data related to women. The position of women in a society is considered to be one of the most important indicators of a country's development level in our era. Women participated in the economic activity in varying forms and status according to the conditions and characteristics of the era throughout history. However, it was the Industrial Revolution that had an important role in their taking part in working life as paid employees. In the republican period, as women's education level has increased, labor force participation rates have increased as well. Women are still experiencing inequality of opportunity problems compared to men in Turkey. However, Turkey has made significant strides in recent years on the long and difficult way to women-men equality of opportunity which will bring the country to become a democratic society. With the awareness of the importance of woman's labor force in the community development, it is possible to conclude that as well as the improvement upon women's working conditions and their employment, keeping the following of the policies about that issue have become necessary.
