Basic economic characteristics of the economy of the Republic of Turkey period described in this study consists of six main chapters.In the first chapter began with the Ottoman Empire the collapse process and the effects of external debt are examined.in the second chapter, the industrial structure inherited by the Republic of Turkey was evaluated and given information about the preliminary studies.in the third chapter,the economic structure in the first years of the republic and the position and activities of the goverment is tried to be given.in the fourth chapter, the economic policies followed during 1946-1961, and the effects of these policies on a sectoral basis of economic life is tried to be evaluated and transferred.in the fifth chapter, the general economic situation after 60s and preparation and creation process of the "Five-Year Development Plan"s is tried to be transferred.in the sixth chapter, the change in economic policy after 1980, the conditions make up that change and the results is tried to be transferred.
