Malatya organization of Republican People?s Party (1923-1950)

Republican People?s Party had governed Turkey for 27 years between the years of 1923-1950 and had been the only ruler and guide of the country?s politics during its long ruler ship. CHP, rescuing the country from enemy occupancy and getting its biggest legitimacy from this source, had allowed opposition movements for a very short time throughout its long ruler ship.Fulfilling its establishment with a ready-made base by co-opting committee of defense of law organizations which were established during the national struggle years and attempting for a big nationwide organization, the party, had become a great political foundation by spreading its organization country wide during its ruler ship.In this study, the political structure of CHP in the provinces will be emphasized, analyzing its party organization established in the Centrum and towns of Malatya.Key Words : CHP, Malatya, Single-Party Era, Public Houses.
