Abstract (EN)
Women have managed to be one of the main subjects of art in every period. Sometimes in terms of aesthetics, sometimes in terms of social message has taken its place among the priority figures in the works. These aspects, as well as the aspect of motherhood, are among the indispensable subjects for many painters, both domestic and foreign. The place where the bond between mother and child changes according to periods and living conditions in paintings have been examined from the perspective of artists and has formed the content of the research in terms of plastic values. When we examine the works of the artists, the conditions of the period in which the artists lived, the geographical conditions and the culture they had had an effect on us in revealing very different dimensions of the same subject. The first part of the study covers the basic information about the research, problem situation, purpose of the research, importance, limitations, assumptions and definitions. Domestic and foreign sources related to the subject investigated within the scope of qualitative research have been made much use of. In the second part, the subject of mother and child within the context of the concept of archetype consists of the information collected by taking into consideration the historical process, the history of art and the depiction of Atatürk. In the third section, the contribution of the proclamation of the Republic to the Turkish Art Of Painting is mentioned, artistic developments in figurative painting and biographies of 15 artists dealing with the issue of mother and child are given. The fourth section covers the methods used in research, universe-sampling, and data analysis techniques. In the fifth chapter, findings and commentary, Cemal Tollu, Fikret Mualla, Maide Arel, Abidin Elderoğlu, Turgut Zaim, Bedri Rahmi Eyüpoğlu, İbrahim Balaban, Mustafa Aslıer, Eren Eyüpoğlu, Nuri İyem, Neşet Günal, Semiha Berksoy, Nedim Günsur, Cihat Aral and Neşe Erdok's different perspectives on the mother and child theme in his works are interpreted in terms of plastic values, and there are 3 expert opinions on 15 works.
