Abstract (EN)

This thesis study is located in the region between Çumra-Hotamış (Konya), and investigated the geological and geochemical data of the outcrops of the old rocks and cover units in this area, together with geophysical studies, the characteristics of the pothole formations and the reasons for the formation of the potholes in the region. The results obtained from the field surveys, approximately 31 rock samples taken in the field, were evaluated and the presence of rocks with surface deformation and sedimentation potential in the region were determined (carbonate and sulfated deposits). The potholes in the region are generally in the form of sagging potholes with a depth of a few meters and a diameter of about 30 meters. These surface deformations are usually associated with faults. Surface deformation (sinkhole and fissure) observed in the study area causes deformations in settlements and energy transmission lines. As a result of geophysical studies carried out in the region, it has been determined that there are pains showing cavities at shallow depths. For this reason, sinkhole formations in the region threaten highways, high-speed train lines, power lines and settlements.
