Morphological and stereological investigation of the effects of cypermethrin on rat liver tissue

Cyprmethrin, a pesticide, is in the group of type II synthetic pyrethroids. Cypermethrin is widely used in agriculture and food. In this study, morphological and stereological examination of rats given cypermethrin was performed. For this purpose, a total of 16 rats in 2 groups were used. The first group is the control group given corn oil for 30 days, the second group is the group given cypermethrin for 30 days. The body measurements of the animals were recorded after 30 days of application. Their livers were examined morphologically and stereologically. As a result of the examinations, it was determined that the liver of the rat morphologically covered most of the organs in the upper abdomen, was aligned with the fold of the diaphragm, was connected to the liver by the ligamentum coronarium, and there was no gall bladder. It was determined that there was a slight increase in the toxic effect of the liver of the groups given cypermethrin, but there was no statistically significant difference, there was no effect of cypermethrin on body weights and there was no statistical difference in terms of volumes.
