Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to investigate the individuals' connectedness to nature, mindfulness, and self-control levels who engaged to mountaineering. The universe of the study consists of dealing with mountaineering and subspecies in Turkey. The participants were selected by easy sampling method and 540 (n = 321 male, n = 219 female) mountaineers were reached through the questionnaire applied via the online system. As a result of the findings obtained, the universe was generalized. It was developed by Nisbet, Zelenski, and Murphy (2009) to determine the levels of connectedness to nature (2015) the 21-item Connectedness to Nature Scale, which was adapted to Turkish) . In order to determine Mindfulness levels, Brown and Ryan (2003) developed and Özyeşil et al. (2011), which was adapted to Turkish by 15 items. it was developed by et al. (2004) and Nebioğlu et al. (2012), which was adapted to Turkish by 9 items. Data were analyzed by SPSS 24.0 package program. In addition to descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Kruskal-Wallis, Mann-Whitney U tests were used to determine differences according to the demographic variables of the participants. Spearman correlation analysis was used to examine the relationship between and Tukey test was used to see which group was statistically different. When the results of the study were examined, it was found that mountainers' connecting to nature, mindfulness and self-control levels varied according to the mountaineering activity. In addition, there is a positive relationship between connectedness to nature, mindfulness, and self-control.
