Abstract (EN)

Ontologies are metadata that describe features related to a field, sample data belonging to this field, and the relationships between these features. They are used in information representation, natural language processing, information retrieval, databases, information management, database integration, information transformation, and other fields. Various ontologies are created and used automatically or semi-automatically for many fields. However, there are many problems that arise, such as the interoperability of ontologies created for different fields and ensuring data flexibility. In order to eliminate these problems, it is aimed to develop a distributed query architecture for ontologies (including data) in a distributed hierarchy to work together. This architecture employs distributed queries, which integrate distributed ontologies or data sources with each other and deliver the optimum result to the end user. Distributed queries have been tested on different data platforms such as DbPedia, Wikidata, and Drugbank. Consequently, instead of extracting data from each source and then applying merging and filtering algorithms to generate the desired reports, the desired reports can be accessed with a single query. The development of these queries has resulted in a reduction in data traffic and the avoidance of the cost associated with applying separate filters to combine data. Furthermore, the generation of results has been expedited through the use of distributed queries.
