The effect of health anxiety on healthy nutrition obsessions and motivation of monitoring health programs in internal medicine patients

This researchwasconducted to examine the effect of health anxiety on health nutrition obsessions and motivation to monitor health programs in internalmedicinepatients.Thepopulation of the studyconsisted of all patientshospitalized in the internalmedicineclinics of a publichospital, and the sampleconsisted of 57 individualswho met the inclusioncriteria and agreed to participate in the study. The data were collectedthrough general information form, Ortho-11 test, Health Anxiety Inventory and Health Programs Monitoring Motivations Scale.35.1% of cases with a mean age of 53.84±17.50 are men. The total score average of the patientsreceived from the Health Anxiety Inventory is 30.77±9.57,the Ortholexia Scale is 24.98±6.40 the Health Programs Monitoring Motivation Scale is 70.43±18.66. Itwasdetermined that gender and marital status and having children from the sociodemographic characteristics of the patientsaffected health anxiety (p<0.05). Itwasfound that therewas a significantrelationshipbetween health anxiety and healthy nutrition obsession and motivation to monitor health programs (p<0.05).As a result, individuals' health anxiety is moderate. There is a relationshipbetween health anxiety and healthy nutrition obsession and motivation to monitor health programs. Ininternalmedicinepatients, determining and controlling the factorsaffecting health anxiety is thought to be important in terms of preventingsome health problems that mayarise.
