Abstract (EN)
INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVE: Patient delivery is a factor that affects patient safety and causes undesirable events in cases where it is not done properly. The study was planned to determine the effect of structured patient delivery form on communication and cooperation in internal medicine clinics. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This research was carried out in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Neurology clinics of a training and research hospital between January and March 2023. The study was designed as a single group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental. Before the study, 37 nurses who participated in the study were applied the information form, NNCS and SBAR workshop. The SBAR Patient Delivery Form, which was created to be used in patient delivery after the workshop, was used in the relevant clinics for 3 months. At the end of the study, the SBAR feedback form was used with the nurses. Data were evaluated by transferring them to IBM SPSS Statistics 23 program, and frequency distribution (number, percentage) for categorical variables and descriptive statistics for numerical variables were given. RESULTS: It was determined that 70.3% of the nurses delivered the shift verbally at the bedside. There was no statistically significant difference between the sociodemographic characteristics of the nurses with high NNC levels and the scale. In the SBAR feedback, it was determined that the form did not make a positive contribution to the delivery of the seizure. A statistically significant difference was found between the sociodemographic characteristics and the feedback form in terms of age, working time in the profession and institution. Among the steps of the form, it was seen that the R (Recomment) step was used the most and the A (Assesment) step was used the least. CONCLUSION: Compared to the current delivery application, the use of the model in terms of time and workload caused negative feedback. It was observed that the nurses' use of a structured model in the delivery process did not contribute positively to the NNC and SBAR feedback form.
