Abstract (EN)
This anthropological study in the Yerfi village evaluates everyday life practices in a Turkic village located on the northern border of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Yerfi becomes an endpoint in the Caucasus for the Turkic settlements situated in 1300-altitude in Azerbaijan. In an anthropological sense, the village protects its traditional borders and arouses considerable curiosity. Creating a boundary for the Turkic settlements in the trans-Caucasus, Yerfi is a village that shows the interaction between traditional and modern life. The geographic aspects of the village reflect the spatial preferences of the Turks in time. For this reason, Yerfi sets an example for the traditional Turkic settlements to be protected in the Caucasus. Its natural structure, settlement, lifestyle, relationships, and the bonds made between the contemporary and traditional increase Yerfi's importance on the anthropological basis. Old-new, religious-national, traditional-modern features are intimate within one another showing an interesting viewpoint. Yerfi's lifestyle, ceremonies, occupations, beliefs, social values, moral standards, and its humanitarian view has been collected in this study. Key words: daily life, Azerbaijan, rural life, Yerfi
