Abstract (EN)

In this study, heat transfer and flow characteristics of circular free air jet of impinged jet to heated disk have been investigated experimentally. The air is supplied by using a radial fan. Unsteady temperature distribution on disk is obtained. The effective parameters for flow and heat transfer are Reynolds number (2800, 9000 and 36000), different jet diameter (single jet, triple jet and jet with six holes), different jet-disk distance to jet diameter ratio (H/Dh), inclination angle of disk (? = 90, 120, 150). Results are presented for unsteady temperature distribution of temperature at stagnation point, variation of temperature along the r-axis, local and mean Nusselt numbers and velocity profiles. Finally, it is found that effectiveness of cooling increases with increasing of Reynolds number, location of stagnation point changes with inclination angle, and nozzle number plays an important role to control heat transfer and fluid flow.
