Abstract (EN)
Waves undergo various transformations when they propagate from deep water towards shallow water. The transformations of linear, monochromatic and irrotational propagating waves in a laboratory basin which has a mild bottom slope, are examined wave shoaling, refraction, diffraction and wave breaking are observed. Propagation of waves which have different wave heights, different periods and different wave approach angles, were physically modelled.
